Help Build the Financial Foundation of a Growing Startup
The Opportunity
Interested in accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship?
TiriVelo Labs is preparing to launch its UX/UI design services, and we're looking for a motivated Finance & Accounting Operations Intern to help us get ready.
You'll gain practical exposure to startup financial operations while helping organize the systems, tools, and processes that will support our future clients and projects.
We're especially interested in students who already have some experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration and want to continue developing their skills.
About TiriVelo
TiriVelo Pet Care Inc. is a federally incorporated Canadian technology company based in Toronto, Ontario. We're developing a digital pet care marketplace focused on trust, accessibility, and thoughtful user experiences.
Alongside our Pet Care platform, we're preparing to launch TiriVelo Labs in January 2027. Labs is our professional UX/UI design services division, helping startups, businesses, and product teams across Canada and the United States create intuitive digital experiences through UX research, interface design, design systems, and interactive prototypes.
As a division of TiriVelo, Labs operates within the same Canadian corporation while maintaining dedicated client engagements, project delivery processes, and financial operations.
This internship offers hands-on learning opportunities in financial administration, project budgeting, and accounting operations.
Working with company leadership, you'll help prepare the tools and workflows we'll use to manage client invoices, contractor payments, expenses, and financial reporting.
Since Labs is preparing for its commercial launch, you'll have the opportunity to see how financial operations are developed from the ground up.
All assignments will be supervised, with technical accounting decisions subject to appropriate professional review.
What You’ll Be Working On
Assist with preparing Zoho Books and organizing draft accounting workflows.
Help create invoice templates and organize financial documentation.
Support project budgeting, expense tracking, and profitability reporting.
Assist with documenting contractor invoicing and payment approval processes.
Help prepare draft financial summaries using Excel or Google Sheets.
Research financial administration practices and contribute ideas for improving our processes.
What We’re Looking For
Currently studying accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Basic understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
Previous exposure to accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing, or financial reconciliations is an asset.
Comfortable using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate, confidential financial records.
Good written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
Interest in learning how financial operations work within a growing startup.
Additional experience is a plus!
We'd especially welcome candidates with previous bookkeeping experience, finance internships, or familiarity with accounting software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or Xero. Knowledge of Canadian business accounting, GST/HST fundamentals, project-based businesses, or CAD/USD transactions would also be valuable.
What You’ll Gain
Real startup experience: Help establish the financial processes and systems supporting a growing Canadian UX/UI design services business.
Practical accounting skills: Gain exposure to bookkeeping, financial tracking, budgeting, reporting, and tools such as Zoho Books.
Project-based financial experience: Learn how businesses manage project budgets, profitability, contractor payments, and Canadian–U.S. transactions.
Collaboration and mentorship: Work directly with TiriVelo's founder and company leadership, with structured learning objectives, guidance, and feedback.
Opportunities to contribute ideas: Help improve financial workflows, reporting practices, and administrative processes as the business develops.
Flexible remote experience: Collaborate with a growing team while balancing your internship responsibilities with your academic commitments.
